
Mauri Hermundsson
Mauri Hermundsson, known as Mustiga Mauri, is a Swedish YouTuber, journalist, and TV host, born on October 30, 1995, in JĂ€rna. His father is from Iceland, and his mother is from Germany. Though he added Mauri to his name at the age of seven, it is not his official first name in the population register. He started his career as a journalist at Expressen and Aftonbladet before launching his food-focused YouTube channel Uppdrag: Mat in 2018. The channel, run with photographer Filip Meneses and editor Hugo Johansson, quickly gained popularity. By October 2021, it had over 529,000 subscribers and 90 million views. His video featuring Bianca Ingrosso was one of Swedenâs most-watched in 2020, with 1.8 million views. In 2019, he was nominated for the Stora Journalistpriset in the Ă rets Förnyare category. Hermundssonâs influence grew, ranking eighth in Medieakademinâs Maktbarometern in 2021, with Uppdrag: Mat being the fourth-largest YouTube channel in Sweden that year. In 2022, it ranked fifth. Beyond YouTube, he transitioned to television, hosting Lego Masters Sverige in 2020 and launching his own TV4 show Mauri â Vad hĂ€nde sen? in 2022, which was nominated for Ă rets UnderhĂ„llningsprogram after its first season. He also hosted Aftonbladetâs humor series Noll kontroll (2022) and became a panelist on BĂ€st i test (2024). In April 2024, TV4 announced that he would be the sidekick to PĂ€r Lernström for the 20th season of Idol, replacing Amie Bramme Sey. Since 2021, Hermundsson has also hosted the podcast Topp 1 i Sverige, where he interviews Swedenâs top experts in various fields.
