Adilkhan Yerzhanov
Adilkhan Yerzhanov (Kazakh: ÓĐ´ŃĐťŃ Đ°Đ˝ ĐŃМанОв; born August 7, 1982; Dzhezkazgan) is a Kazakh filmmaker, screenwriter, editor and producer. Member of the European Film Academy (since 2018). In 2009 he graduated from Kazakh National Academy of Arts with the major in âFilm directingâ. Adilkhan Yerzhanov is a two-time participant of the Cannes Film Festival's Official Program (âThe Ownersâ, 2014, Official Selection, and âThe Gentle Indifference of the Worldâ, 2018, Un Certain Regard Section). Winner of âAsia Pacific Screen Awards-2019â (often referred to as âAsian âOscarsâ) for âAchievement in Directingâ for âA Dark, Dark Manâ film. âThe Ownersâ and âThe Gentle Indifference of the Worldâ were nominated for Asia Pacific Screen Award ("Best Feature Film", "Best Screenplay", "Achievement in Cinematography"). All of his films were premiered and awarded at many international film festivals. âThe Ownersâ film was included in the 100 Best Asian Films catalogue, published in 2015 by Busan International Film Festival.
